All the little things

When organising a party for your kids or celebrating the arrival of a new baby, it’s important to make your event that little bit personal and unique. But how is it done?

Today we hear from  Jo’s Signs by Design who believe it’s all the little details that make your event memorable and special for you and your guests. Below are some top ideas that are interactive, edible and stylish that will bring your party to the next level.

Personalised Chocolates

Dessert tables are the most popular focal point at parties these days. They’re covered in tasty treats and set the scene for your whole event.

There’s nothing better than making sure your little guests get to eat something yum that reminds them of your special day. Personalised chocolate wrappers are simple and easy to organise and look amazing on and after the big event.

These chocolates were especially made for an expecting mum for her baby shower.

Place Cards

Whether your event is big or small, personalised place cards are a sweet addition to your party. Perfect for Christenings’ and Baptisms’ when you have a large amount of guests.

Here we’ve made table numbers using gold foil. Minimalist in design and easy to make, they add a touch of elegance to your tables.

We can also make these in a range of colours such as rose gold, silver, marble and more.

Welcome Board & Table Sign

Combined welcome boards and table plans are currently one of the most popular trends for kids’ parties.

They are the first thing your guests see and capture the theme and style of your entire event. What’s even better is that you can add that special touch of sparkle with foiling.

This board, made for a Christening, stands out with its soft pastel blue and rose gold foiling for the name.

Decals

Decals are the understated party accessory. They’re like personalised stickers that can be stuck on a range of surfaces. Custom made to any shape, design or font they bring a stylish element to any event.

Here they’ve been used as a welcome sign on a gorgeous ornate gold-framed mirror for a Baptism.

Prop Frames

There’s no better way to get your guests, young and old, involved and mingling than by giving them something that’s fun and interactive. Personalised prop frames do just this! Frames are durable and can be used at a range of events.

This is one of our very own prop frames. They leave everyone smiling and you can be certain it will leave a lasting impression.

We hope these ideas have given you some food for thought for your next party or event. As you can see it’s the little details and personal touches that will take everything to the next level. Dessert Table backdrops – Q & A

Today Ania from 2 Love Birds is guest posting and shedding light on printable backdrops for dessert tables – sharing the great effect they can have and answering some common questions about them:

With the increasing popularity of DIY parties as well as professionally styled celebrations, party backdrops have been one of our most in demand printable products. They can be a great focal point, they can give a dessert or savory table a background, convey a happy message or sometimes even cover a boring or an unsightly wall!

I would like to share a few of my favourite and most successful backdrops and parties.

“Come and make a Splash” – styled by The Sweet Society
Modern and clean but super fun at the same time! Instead of the more traditional “Happy Birthday” message there is call for action, which makes this artwork a little a bit more interactive and entertaining. Great idea for boys parties.

“Sew cute as a Button” – styled by Sweet Coco
This backdrop is cute, sweet and playful. Perfect for a little girls party.

Tropicana Dinner Party – styled by Kendra Plastow Styling
Floral backdrop which matches our Tropicana wedding stationery suite can be easily mistaken for wallpaper. Clever idea from the stylist!

Floral Minnie Mouse party – styled by Miss Deliciouza
Mint and Gold frame backdrop was designed for this Floral Minnie Mouse party. I love the idea of a 3D backdrop. It can be achieved by creating a plainer background and either sticking or hanging real objects in front of the artwork. Perfectly executed here by Miss Deliciouza!

Japanese Tea Party – styled by Sweet Bambini Event Styling
Once again, bringing the artwork to life by introducing real elements! In this case it’s the cherry blossom lights and parasols.

Hawaiian Party – styled by Styled by Belle
Who doesn’t love a Hawaiian party? This backdrop is busy and colourful with an equally opulent dessert table to match!

Q&A

What are the most common sizes for a party backdrop?
-BO size backdrop (1000 mm height and 1414 mm width)
-Full length backdrop (1000mm by 1800mm)

Where can I print my backdrop?
– Officeworks prints a BO size backdrop as well as any length by 1m high
so they can print 1000mm by 1800mm (full width of a trestle table). It’s not on their standard service list, but it can be done upon request. Both of these sizes can be printed on 160gsm paper.
– If you would prefer to print the backdrop on canvas which is more durable, you can send the artwork to Buggyboo (link http://buggyboo.com.au/shop/banner/
– Your local printer may have the ability to print large format artwork as well!

How can I hang my backdrop?
If the backdrop is printed on paper and is being stuck to a clean wall, Blu Tac is usually sufficient. If your backdrop is printed on a heavier stock 3M strips may be better.

Can I re-use it?
Of course! It’s a shame sometimes for the backdrop to be thrown out after the party. If the backdrop says your child’s name you can hang it in their bedroom as a personalised poster. You can also re-print the file if you like.
