Any fruit based theme is always bound to be cute and a cherry themed party – one of the cutest! This sweet but on trend-theme was the inspiration behind the “Cherry on top” shoot which graced the cover of the first issue of “Celebrating Little Ones” magazine!
It was styled by the always talented Dream a Little Dream Events incorporating partyware from Ruby Rabbit Partyware and photographed by Love Her Photography:
It all started with this sweet invitation using custom illustrations by Elk Prints (also seen in the above party backdrop) and brought together in this invitation by Eve & Co Stationery:
As you can see – the invitation really came to life with the party setup!:
The amazing sign which was part of the backdrop was created by Communicake It:
The cakes and desserts did not dissapoint – all created by My Petite Sweets in Perth:
I love all the cute setups which were incorporated into this shoot! Also loving the cute favour boxes by Glitter and Glue Designs:
Isn’t this the sweetest?:
This truly was such an inspiring shoot – showcasing ideas of what could be used for a Cherry themed party as well as ideas of how certain partyware or props can be used to bring a party theme alive!

I was excited to share my daughters Swan themed Baptism in the first issue of “Celebrating Little Ones” magazine which you can view here
I always knew if this little 4th child of ours was a little girl then a “Swan” theme was what I would pick for her Baptism theme as well as her Nursery theme. It was a lot of fun finding and sourcing various pieces to incorporate into the decorations and of course I used the vendors listed on the LLC children’s party directory!
For our family the Baptism day of our children is quite important and special and so even though our guest list was small I still wanted to create something beautiful to celebrate the occasion.
All the beautiful photos were by Captured by Kirri
This gorgeous invitation from Emma Smith Event Stationery set the scene for the Swan theme and included beautiful gold foil lettering!:
I wanted everything to be very soft and pretty and the backdrop from Dream a little Dream Events along with the feather garlands from Ruby Rabbit Partyware helped incorporate the feather look which was also framed so beautifully with the balloon garland with tassels from Party Splendour
I like keeping my setups uncomplicated as far as the layout of desserts – as you can see the table is quite uncluttered and symmetrical. When you have young kids you want your dessert table setup to be easy because it definitely is not the only thing you will be getting ready on the morning!
The grey marble and pink cake stands I just loved from Petite Events Hire so I really wanted to include them in this setup along with their pretty white console table.
I also carried the softness of the feathers down to the floor with the sheepskin rug and all the decor filling under the table from Ruby Rabbit Partyware:
Personal touches are important for me when planning a dessert table for one of my children and this gorgeous gold mirror sign from Communicake It added that personalised touch and I knew I could also display it and keep it in Leah’s nursery which I have now done. It was also easily blutacked onto the backdrop and nice and light weight!:
Party Splendour managed to incorporate some soft feathers into the balloons:
For the cake by Macaron Delights – I wanted to keep things simple and elegant and topped with a sweet Swan topper from Poppies for Grace:
For the rest of the desserts I aimed to carry on the colour schemes of pinks, whites, and golds and these meringue kisses from Quincy Lane honestly tasted as good as they looked. They are SO easy to devour it is hard not to eat 5…or 10 !
The macarons by Macaron Delights were also oh so delicious!!
The elegant swan cookies from Frosted by Nicci were inspired by the invitations and were just gorgeous and Nicci did a beautiful job matching them to the invitations!! Kids love cookies so I always ensure to have some on my kids dessert tables:
Using a swan mould from Confectionately Yours I created some white chocolate swans to add to the table. I’m no baker at all and these chocolates are not perfect – but it was a bit fun making these and reminded me of my childhood when we use to make chocolates.
I love fairy floss from Fluffy Crunch any day of the week so I loved incorporating this soft dessert on the table! Fairy floss can only be served and displayed just before the guests are ready to eat it – so I did have more in tubs ready to serve as guests ate – which was handy as the fairy floss went FAST!
The Poppes for Grace feather garlands which I sourced from Ruby Rabbit Partyware added such a pretty touch and I now have the pink one displayed in Leah’s room:
The pretty white and gold plates and take home bags were also from Ruby Rabbit Partyware. They were so gorgeous to use for dessert plates and to fill with desserts for guests to take home to enjoy later!
This beautiful print from Toucan is one I chose also for Leah’s room and it suited the setup for the dessert table so well also:
The special girl of the moment herself ! 2 months old and ready for her special day:
And a special family photo before we headed off to the Church!:

Party planning comes with the territory once you’re a mum. For some of us, we love it! Others find it stressful and aren’t sure where to start for something that will look coordinated but also be EASY!
Thankfully there is a business like Party Pax – which is a one-stop shop that makes DIY party planning fun and simple, so you can share in the delight of hosting for your loved ones.
You can choose from 16 different themes and you get everything you need in a box, delivered to your door. In this post, the images share what could be created using the Ballet party theme box.
Party Pax offer DIY cake packs, DIY cupcake packs, decorations, tableware, balloons, invitations, lollies, and a little inspiration! Today they share their 5 simple tips to give your party the wow factor!
- Choose a theme
Choosing a theme will help with planning and styling your party. Consider choosing a colour, character, or activity. Integrate your theme throughout each element of your party – invitations, decorations, tableware, food and games.
- Plan, plan, plan
Having a plan (and sticking to it) will ensure your preparations and party run smoothly, and you keep to your budget. Make as many elements of your party before the big day so you can enjoy a stress-free, fun-filled party!
- Add personal touches
Little details will make your party stand out and make the party personalised and special.
Whilst your little one may not remember all the details of the party, they will remember the effort you went to. Have a go at making the birthday cake or personalise the decorations.
- Organise games and activities
Party games will make your party come to life. Traditional party games can be loads of fun for kids of all ages (like musical chairs, pass the parcel, pin the tail on the donkey) and having a chill-out area with craft activities can be a hit too, especially with older kids.
- Say “Thank you”
Don’t forget to thank your guests for helping to make your party special, and for their gifts. Hand out pre-prepared lolly/loot bags, and follow up with a thank you note and even a photo from the day.
For an easy way to style and decorate your kids party for a wow factor, view the range of party packs available at Party Pax to suit a range of themes!
The gorgeous party featured above is using their ballerina party pack – and as you can see a beautiful result can be achieved without too much stress!

Oh this really is such a delightful party theme and I hope this post has given you a head start on your party planning
I am looking forward to planning for this theme myself for my daughter this year – and know I can source all I need from the Life’s Little Celebrations vendors who truly have the best party decor in the industry!
A jungle or safari theme has always been a popular choice for baby showers or first birthdays, but lately we’re seeing a digression from the traditional colour palette of bright colours and cute characters to a more sophisticated and modern interpretation, which I’m just loving!
Keeping to a monochrome theme, it’s easy to build on your theme with highlights of gold or tropical fauna for a big impact just like these beautifully styled occasions by some of our talented LLC vendors.
Remember to CLICK onto any of the images below to find more details or where to purchase/order the items!:
Styled by The Sugar Topped Table
Modern Jungle Safari – styled by Opulenticity Party & Buffet Styling
Monochrome Safari – style by The Sugar Topped Table
This is one theme that can be so easily achieved with what is readily available, and to help you I’ve pulled together a few of my favourite items from some of our LLC vendors to get you started.
Invitations
A great place to start when setting your theme! Choose a black and white colour palette with touches of gold, or turn those accents into show stopping starting blocks like this gorgeous Inka print and sunrise invitation from Loulou Pie Creative. These colours can then be picked up throughout your tableware and decorations for an impressive effect.
Safari invitations – Loulou Pie Creative
Although I am showcasing the whole dessert table setup for these gorgeous safari parties below I want to particularly highlight the gorgeous backdrop designs which would also be available for use as an invitation and other party stationery:
Monochrome Safari – style by The Sugar Topped Table. Stationery design by Style Me Gorgeous

Hessian gathered tablecloth – Saffy and May
Decorations
If you want to go for a monochrome look then stick to the rule of using only black and white for the majority of your decorations and choose a few stand out items such as jumbo confetti balloons, cake toppers or the use of tropical foliage to bring it all together, or simply stick to all black and white if you wish!
You could also stick to a basic colour scheme of mainly white, or rustic brown and then use gold highlights in the decorations or desserts. Safari animals spray painted gold are an easy DIY to help give the dessert table a fun and modern look!
These items are perfect to decorate a safari cake and make it a stand out!:
Gold Animal Cake Toppers
Gold Cake Topper – A la Roch
