Party planning comes with the territory once you’re a mum. For some of us, we love it! Others find it stressful and aren’t sure where to start for something that will look coordinated but also be EASY!
Thankfully there is a business like Party Pax – which is a one-stop shop that makes DIY party planning fun and simple, so you can share in the delight of hosting for your loved ones.
You can choose from 16 different themes and you get everything you need in a box, delivered to your door. In this post, the images share what could be created using the Ballet party theme box.
Party Pax offer DIY cake packs, DIY cupcake packs, decorations, tableware, balloons, invitations, lollies, and a little inspiration! Today they share their 5 simple tips to give your party the wow factor!
- Choose a theme
Choosing a theme will help with planning and styling your party. Consider choosing a colour, character, or activity. Integrate your theme throughout each element of your party – invitations, decorations, tableware, food and games.
- Plan, plan, plan
Having a plan (and sticking to it) will ensure your preparations and party run smoothly, and you keep to your budget. Make as many elements of your party before the big day so you can enjoy a stress-free, fun-filled party!
- Add personal touches
Little details will make your party stand out and make the party personalised and special.
Whilst your little one may not remember all the details of the party, they will remember the effort you went to. Have a go at making the birthday cake or personalise the decorations.
- Organise games and activities
Party games will make your party come to life. Traditional party games can be loads of fun for kids of all ages (like musical chairs, pass the parcel, pin the tail on the donkey) and having a chill-out area with craft activities can be a hit too, especially with older kids.
- Say “Thank you”
Don’t forget to thank your guests for helping to make your party special, and for their gifts. Hand out pre-prepared lolly/loot bags, and follow up with a thank you note and even a photo from the day.

Want to create your own pastel party prettiness? I’ve curated some gorgeous finds from party boutique The Little Event Company which was launched recently by Melbourne based mum Marie. This online party store is all about style and you will find beautiful partyware, tableware and decorations to browse and today I’m sharing their lovely pastel partyware:
Pastel pinwheels – The Little Event Company
Marie’s background was in the event industry for over 12 years as she explains: “I worked as a “Wedding Planner” , managing celebrity weddings and working with high-end clientele. The most expensive wedding being close to $800K…that was a crazy experience. I have never needed to order full sized, customised Bride and Groom mirrored thrones before. For a few years I dabbled into freelance work as well. Like most mumpreneurs my career goals/bucket list goals came into fruition whilst I was a full-time stay at home mum. I had reached a cross-road as my maternity leave was coming to an end. I either had to go back to work and leave my “babies” or stay at home and do what I love most – being a mum. But I also needed “me time”. Some people choose to read a book or go for a walk, I chose to start a business in an industry I absolutely love!”
I know I (and many others) can certainly relate and I’m so glad Marie did make the decision to open her party boutique and bring together gorgeous partyware such as this selection:
Pastel confetti balloon kit – The Little Event Company
Large pastel plates – The Little Event Company
Pastel pom poms – The Little Event Company
Pastel confetti – The Little Event Company
Pastel pink straws – The Little Event Company
Pink and gold tassel party horn – The Little Event Company
Pink and gold candles – The Little Event Company
Combine the above pastel pretties for a gorgeous and coordinated party look!
When you browse The Little Event Company’s website it is hard to believe it was only launched in July 2016!
Marie explains: “Prior to the launch, I had set out some KPIs for the business – I love a challenge. I am not sure if this is the norm but I was pretty chuffed when I reached my 100th sale within months of opening, and I started to have repeat customers – which was fantastic for my ego. With the highs also came a couple of confronting lows where I needed to remind myself why I started this venture to begin with. To be honest, I am not sure where this new adventure will take me and I am happy to keep it that way. Sometimes keeping it small is not always a bad thing. Seeing my girls’ faces when a shipment arrives filled with party goods is worth gold. Overall, The Little Event Company would not be in existence if it wasn’t for the belief and support of my magical family and totally selfless parents.”
I am sure many of you reading this who are also running your own small business have felt the same!
If you’re planning your kids party and are ready to shop for your party supplies, ensure you browse The Little Event Company and their selection of the pastel partyware above along with their own kids theme ranges! You’re sure to find something stylish for your next children’s event.
It’s hard to miss the beautiful event set ups on Facebook and Instagram, but have you ever wondered who and what it takes to create such a memorable event?
Today we are chatting to Jo’s Signs by Design who share with us that they are “just one cog in the wheel of the party world”. Hear from them below about the important elements they can bring to any event along with some tips for your party styling and planning:
We print all things party for individuals wanting to create a unique DIY event and talented event stylists. From weddings to birthdays to christenings to baby showers to anything that’s worth celebrating, we have seen it all.
Although we’re a small piece of the party puzzle, we’ve got some tips to make your next party memorable.
First Impressions
The first thing your guests see at your event sets the tone for the entire party. Welcome signs are the perfect way to greet guests and give them an idea as to what the day holds.
Printed by us, this welcome sign was designed by Eve & Co Stationery, who also applied the gold foil for a Sweet Heavenly Events and Party Hire event:
The Big Picture
There’s so much that goes into making the big picture look perfect, but when you take the time and effort to put things together, the end result will leave your guests stunned. Make sure your decor compliment each other!

Personality
Adding a personal touch to your event can make it go from good to great. Guests love when an event reflects the personality and taste of the loved one’s their celebrating. After all, they’re the ones that know you the best

Memories
A picture lasts forever and parties are the perfect place to snap those memories. Giving your guests something fun to take photos with will make your event stand out and allows for guests to interact and have a laugh. Personalised prop frames are the perfect way to leave a lasting impression.
Party planning can have its ups and downs, but if you remember these important elements when preparing for your next event, we assure you it’ll leave people talking.
