Golden Christmas (with a touch of pink!)

Gold is one of those colours I love seeing as part of Christmas decor. A colour of royalty and one that depicts something grand and special – it definitely suits the season of Christmas!

Inspired by this glittery Christmas dessert table by the talented Vesna of My Little Jedi  (make sure you have a look for loads of inspiration!) I have based this post around a golden Christmas with hints of pink for a glamorous setting.

I apologise for the long delay in my blog posts lately – so much is going on and I’m finding it a little harder to keep up! My little one is a lot more active during the day and I hardly find time to get onto the computer as much as I use to until evening (I’m sure you all can relate!)

Christmas Colour Inspiration

What are your Christmas colours? It’s a question that seems to be getting discussed a lot lately on facebook.

Do you go traditional red, green and white? Do you like to change it up every year? Or do you stick to the same (but unique) colour palette each time?

We all know Christmas is about a lot more than just the colours we decorate in and it’s important that we don’t put pressure on ourselves as mum’s to have a Christmas tree or dessert table that is ‘magazine worthy’ – especially when you have children who want to be hand’s on in the decorating!

However I always find decorating in a colour scheme (and choosing the colours) is a fun part of the early Christmas preparations!

Here is some colour inspiration for you based starting off with what is fast becoming quite a popular colour combination – bold red and soft aqua:

Red and Aqua Christmas table – Save the Date for Cupcakes Blog

Red and Aqua christmas – Country Living

I love these soft colour palettes of blue with creams and golds for a fresh look:

With a different shade of blue and gold you can create a warm feel:

A unique pink, gold and blue colour palette makes for a bright and beautiful Christmas spread:

Vibrant purple is a great colour for Christmas! Team it with a bold red:

Pink seems to be the ‘new red’ of Christmas! A soft pink, gold and silver colour scheme would look gorgeous:

You could go rustic with browns mixed in with reds, greens or golds:

Add silver to a traditional red and white combination for a stand out look:

Isn’t this a great Christmas centrepiece using baubles? Love it!

Red, white and green will always be a Christmas favourite:

You could also keep things very simple and light with a white winter wonderland feel in the midst of our hot Australian summer!

Another take on the pinkcolour scheme, this time with different shades of pink with gold. So elegant…

This is a stunning table! I love how they have brought in elements of traditional red ad green but also mixed in touches of creams and golds:

For a unique touch, why not mix pink and green together this Christmas?

Perfect for an adult’s Christmas dinner is this black, silver and white Christmas colour scheme:

I’ve noticed some neon christmas decorations in store this year so if you want to go bright and bold this year – here is some inspiration for you!:

I hope you have found a Christmas colour combination for Christmas.

It’s impossible to collate every possible Christmas colour combination available.  So – what are your Christmas colours? Did I include them in this selection or are you doing something different? I’d love to hear from you!

Halloween Theme

Although Halloween isn’t as huge in Australia as it is in America, I know alot of you still do put something together for Halloween (or maybe you’d like to try it for the first time this year?) so I have gathered some options out there into this mini post for you all to help with your planning and just as a starting point for some inspiration. Also make sure you have a look at my recent Owl Theme post if you want to incorporate Owl’s into this theme as well!

This is also perfect if you have a little one’s birthday around Halloween and are doing a Halloween style birthday party.

Of course most party shops at this time of year will be stocking lots of Halloween novelty items so I haven’t included alot of these types of items in this post because they are easily found at these party shops as well as shops such as Spotlight etc.
