Kite Theme

Let’s go fly a kite!

This unique and fun theme is starting to become popular and after being inspired by some beautiful real Kite parties I thought it would be lovely to gather some ideas for this theme as we head into the warmer months! It’s a perfect one for all ages and can be styled for a boy or a girl. The best thing about this theme is being able to include some kite making and kite flying as part of your party which the children and parents are sure to enjoy!

Any colour combination can work for this party but I’ve chosen some options in blues and whites to go with the sky/clouds colour. However if you view the amazing “Real Parties” listed at the bottom of this post you will see a lovely range of colours which could work for you!

The invitations for this theme are so lovely I am not sure how you will be able to choose one!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Decorations

You could use some simple paper kites for decorations or create a paper banner in the shape of kites as well. Another idea is to create a backdrop or decorations to resemble the tail of a kite – so tying litle bows with ribbon or tissue paper onto long hanging strings.

I know that this theme isn’t one that automatically comes to mind when thinking of party themes but hopefully this post has shown you that you can really do a lot with a theme like this and you’ll be able to create a day with a fun experience for all the little one’s!

 

Pinwheels theme

This cute and unique theme is perfect to bring out the joy and fun of being a child! Little one’s love holding a twirling pinwheel in their hand so why not base a celebration around this?

Pinwheels are also great to team up with another item for example balloons, ribbons or lollipops. They are also versatile little items which you could work into most party themes!

Given the uniqueness of this theme, there is not a lot of specific party items available however all you really need are some pinwheels to really bring this theme alive!

I haven’t included some of my usual categories of tableware and favour packaging in this post as this theme could take on any colour scheme and doesn’t have as many theme related items available – however please see my previous posts for many different tableware and favour packaging ideas!

Choosing a great set of printables can really help you with decorating your party, especially for a theme such as pinwheels where there isn’t alot of theme specific items available.

Owl Theme

For all the wise little one’s out there, an Owl party theme is gorgeously cute and perfect for boys, girls and twins!

I love the idea of incorporating browns and natural colours and textures into this party theme, but really you can style this party with a range of colours depending on your chosen invitations.

Team this theme with birds (see our Little Birdy theme ), woodland features (see our woodland party theme) or it is perfect to stand as it’s own theme as well.

Yellow & Grey Colour Theme

For your little one’s celebration, styling it around colours (as opposed to a specific theme) can work beautifully and yellow and grey are two colours that I am loving together at the moment (and it seem’s alot of you are too!). Of course you can also choose this colour scheme to work in with a specific theme you have chosen as well. It’s perfect for boys, girls or a baby shower!

Carousel Party

A classic childhood experience is enjoying the merry go round and this Carousel party captures the fun and magic of this as well as the beauty of a gorgeous carousel! Pastel colours, carousel horses and florals can all make for a beautiful setting! This theme could stand on its own or you could incorporate aspects of the carousel theme into a Carnival/Fair or Circus theme as well (have a look at one of my very early blog posts on a Circus theme). It is truly a sweet and unique theme for a little girl!

A few gorgeous invitations (which are often part of a matching set with other items) and as you can see a variety of colour combinations work well for this theme:

Carousels often combine beautiful colours, florals and lights. Recreate this with some of these decorative options:

What is wonderful about a Carousel theme party is that any special item you purchase will look wonderful in your daughters room afterwards. Remember for a theme, you may just need one or two stand out items which really bring the theme to life. You can then carry on the theme in smaller details. Work within your budget and go for items you can reuse or display again in your child’s room.

Hiring is another great option for stand out features to match your theme and this amazing Carousel horse is a gorgeous example of that!  It can be hired out and would be a great photo spot too during the party!

A lovely carousel will not only make a beautiful centrepiece at the party table but also a precious gift for your little girl as well:

I really could not find many specific Carousel theme parties online which shows what a unique theme this is. However you must have a look at this amazing party by Sharnel Dollar Designs which is based around Mary Poppins and has lots of gorgeous Carousel features!

As you can see, this is a sweet theme and there is so much you can do with it! It really creates that magical childhood feeling and because of this makes for a memorable birthday theme to celebrate your little one!
