If you ask me, the growth of the party and events industry is a direct result of the raw talent of suppliers and just how accessible they’ve made it for everyone to create memorable occasions. You’ll find many of them on our LLC directory!
It’s a fantastic industry of support among suppliers, but the big winners are the consumers who can now turn any occasion into something special with the amount of inspiration, professionals and DIY options now available.
This was a driving force behind starting LIfe’s Little Celebrations and why we now have our first conference to look forward to, continuing to learn, inspire and grow with each other. I’m so excited for Celebrate in August and look forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting new. There are still tickets available so be quick to secure yours here and join us for what is set to be a fantastic day.
One of our Celebrate sponsors is a shining example of just how this industry is making gorgeous occasions accessible for everyone – because let’s face it, we can’t all bake and decorate like a pro, but we like to give it a red hot go!
Michelle Bailey own’s Custom Icing, which enables you to turn homemade or purchased cakes, cupcakes or cookies into something spectacular. Even the pros are partial to using Michelle’s edible cake images to add the extra WOW factor to a creation.
Incredible, huh?! The edible images from Custom Icing can make a huge difference to your cakes as well as cupcakes and even chocolates!
Customised cupcakes make a great impression at any occasion, and these simple discs are so simple but so effective on a plain iced cupcake with colour coordinated baking cases.
What kid doesn’t love seeing their face on a cake?!
I love how Custom Icing enables just about anyone to be a master baker and turn an occasion into something special. Whether you’re handy with fondant or not, edible cake images can turn cakes into show stoppers and help bring together themes with a little creativity.
You can find out more about Custom Icing, including printing on chocolate, and shop online here.
Happy creating and we hope to see you at celebrate!
A quick flick through our Pinterest boards will show you just how popular decorated cookies and cupcakes are for bringing together a theme at any occasion. Handy that they are also delicious!
Cookies are always the first to go at any of my kids parties! Children just love something that is delicious, small enough to eat and with a cute or fun image!
LLC directory partner Marlena, from Sydney’s Miss Confetti launched her business in 2013 to share her love of putting a smile on people’s faces with her baked goods, and her passion for what she does shows in each and every creation. Marlena has an extensive portfolio of cookies and cupcake themes to choose from, or can work with you on creating a special design to suit your occasion.
I bet just a few of these Frozen cookies have been made in the last couple of years!
How great are these Lalaloopsy faces?!
Hoot and Hootabelle are always a toddler favourite, and details like these are sometimes all you need when teamed with coordinated block colour decorations and tableware.
Minnie Mouse is an ever popular theme and the personaliation on these cookies and matching cupcakes are too cute!
Wrapped in cellophane, cookies make fantastic take home treat or favours.
It’s often the finer details that make an impact, and I love Marlena’s use of intricate icing that add personality to each and every creation.
Miss Confetti is based in Sydney and offers both cookies and cupcakes and you can see more of her gorgeous creations on her website.
After a particularly long term, school holidays are nearly here for the kids to enjoy some down time. I always find that after a few days rest though, the novelty of staying at home in pyjamas all day wears off, and the requests for play dates, trips to the aquarium and movies start flowing in.
So like many parents, I’m always on the look out for new and exciting things to do during this time (that aren’t weather dependent) and particularly love it when our LLC vendors are involved!
I generally do a quick mental check list when qualifying an activity:
- Is it age appropriate?
- Will the kids enjoy it?
- Is there coffee?
If it’s a quick ‘yes’ to these and it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, we’re in.
One event you may love to add to the calendar this school holidays is the Kids Day Out on July 14 in Sydney. Presented by LLC vendor and Celebrate sponsor Fairy La La Land, this sounds like a great day out for us all with something for everyone – even us mums.
The talented Fairy La La Land entertainers will be keeping kids busy for a huge 5 hours on the day (if they have the energy to last that long that is!) with live shows, circus performances, Justice Crew dancers, face painting and balloon twisting. Tick, tick, tick!
For mums, there will be plenty of stalls to roam whilst the kids are happily kept busy – and yes, coffee! Held at the Pittwater RSL Club, it’s even worth inviting a group of friends to make a day of it and book a table for lunch too.
The Justice Crews style dancers are always a hit – but be warned, you might see a few moves tried out at home!
Tickets are just $15 each (children under 12 months are free) which is amazing value, and can be booked through Eventbrite. For any show details you can also contact Fairy La La Land.
Have a great school holiday break everyone.
There is something about a styled event that leaves a lasting impression, don’t you think? Small details are discussed for months as guests recall moments from the big day, and the joy experienced by everyone in attendance seems to last that little bit longer, making it all worth it.
Baby showers are already memorable occasions as it is, but this particular one styled by LLC partner and Celebrate sponsor – Sweet Heavenly Events Hire is beyond words. Collaborating with many other talented vendors from the Life’s Little Celebrations directory for the dessert buffet, flowers, backdrop and matching sweet delicacies, we love everything about it and wish we were guests!
Using many of their own props (also for hire) and working closely with their trusted vendors, the Sweet Heavenly team created a special mint, green and white theme with splashes of silver to present what can only be described as a jaw-dropping setting for this special occasion. We’re guessing inspiration came from the incredible dining table!
Details right down to the cupcake toppers ensured a talking point at every bite, making them (almost) too good to eat. Displayed on gorgeous marble and silver cake stands (also for hire) to coordinate everything beautifully.
These chocolate pyramids even mimic the marble table which is just so subtle and so clever.
Laser cut cake toppers are proving to be a popular choice for all occasions, and this one in silver is on point perfection, sitting pretty atop a frilled two tier show stopper.
Props like this wooden rocking horse and chair (also available for hire) are perfect for the theme and give the room that extra WOW factor.
Working with a stylist like Sweet Heavenly has so many advantages, but if you have the creative flair and want to give it a go yourself, their beautiful items for hire will help get you the look you’re after and provide that stylist’s touch. I love how seamlessly this whole theme has come together, and hope it has inspired your next occasion.
