Balloon Garlands made easy!

Balloons have well and truly taken over the party scene and Balloon Garlands are the perfect way to create that wow factor at your celebration and kids party. Whether you are wanting to create a party backdrop or dress up a dessert or cake table, a garland is certainly the way to go and Favor Lane have a gorgeous range of balloon decor to choose from that we’re pleased to give you a sneak peek of tonight!

Now thanks to the One Styling Party DIY Balloon Garland Kits, you can easily create your own beautiful garland in under an hour.

The DIY Balloon Garland kits from Favor Lane are available in 14 colourways, each of which includes all you need to make a 2 metre garland.

They  have recently introduced matching Balloon Bouquets which include 12 x 30cm balloons which can be filled with helium. Half of the balloons included in the kits are double layered (one balloon inside another) to create a unique and appealing colour.

Inside each the kit, you will receive:

12 x 30cm balloons (including a minimum of 3 confetti filled)

36 x Mini 12cm balloons

A Hand (air) pump

A balloon decorating strip

Step by step instructions for assembly

If you are wanting to add other colours to your garland, they sell individual 12cm Mini Balloons and 30cm Standard Size balloons in a broad range of colours from just 0.40c each.

STYLING TIP: The addition of 2-3 of their Jumbo (60, 75 or 90cm) Balloons will really take the garland to the next level. A touch of foliage will also add a beautiful finishing touch.

Favor Lane suggest inflating your balloons the day/evening before your event. This will take approximately 20 minutes. When you are ready to start assembling the garland, lay out the balloon decorating strip and begin inserting the tied balloons into the pre punched holes. It is best to alternate the direction of which you push the balloons through however our packaged instructions will explain this further. Allow at least 30 minutes to assemble the garland.

They certainly add a huge element of style and ‘wow’ to any party!

Up, up and away!!

Hot air balloon parties are all the craze but this year Melbourne event stylists Willow and Duck took this theme to new heights.

They took a creative risk and together with some amazing vendors created a dessert table which mimicked a hot air balloon.

The talented ladies used printed panels from Edge House Design to create the basket , a giant balloon sphere made up of mini balloons (by Belle Balloons) and an amazing flame cake (by Frosted by Nicci). The result was epic and created a tiz on social media. Here is what the ladies from Willow and Duck had to say about this event:

How did you come up with the idea?

We both love to think outside the box. When our client approached us and asked us to get creative with the theme we jumped at the opportunity. We worked with Astons mum to come up with a concept that suited her budget and style.

What inspired you to take this creative risk?

We have seen many hot air balloon events done and done very well by our colleagues.

We wanted to do something that had not been done before with this theme.

Staying with a pastel colour pallet to keep it kiddie, we decided to transform the entire dessert table into a hot air balloon.

As the function was outdoors, we utilised the marquee to suspend the balloon sphere.

It all came together so easily thanks and our amazing vendors who jumped right onboard when we discussed our ideas!

What recommendations do you have for other people wanting to take a creative risk?
Planning is key.
Pam is great with a sketch pad so we were able to visualise the styling and make changes where we felt necessary well before the event.
This kept the costs down for the client and allowed us to clearly articulate to our vendors exactly what we were after.

What did you find challenging about this concept?

Our biggest fear was that the end product wouldn’t transcribe on social media. The outcome was the complete opposite!

We were worried that people would see the table and not realise that it was a hot air balloon or that the cake was the flame. It was a big creative risk for us but one well worth taking!

What did you love most about this theme?
Everything! From the colours in the balloon sphere to the amazing cake under the gorgeous marquee- the entire set up was perfect.
Our proudest moment was seeing our clients face when she entered the space.
Ultimately, the greatest gratification for us is knowing that we delivered what the client was after and more.

And here are the talented ladies themselves – Pam and Mel of Willow and Duck who creatively dreamed up and executed this amazing setup!:

Celebrate unwrapped: the beauty of balloons

When you have a large space to decorate and with limited time – balloons are the perfect option! They create a huge impact but are easy to setup once you have collected them from your balloon supplier. So they were the perfect decoration for the Celebrate conference day where we had less than 2 hours to decorate our lovely venue.

Balloon queen Michelle of Party Splendour worked alongside Shannon of Born to Party to create balloon magic at the venue  and today I am showcasing some of Michelles amazing work on the day of Celebrate as well as some of the new balloon trends and decor she has been creating in events around Sydney:

Balloon walls and arches have become a popular trend for dessert table backdrops:

I am also loving the orb balloons as seen here in rose gold mixed with confetti balloons!

Balloon hoops are another fun trend which make such a stunning decoration:

Party Splendor really can create balloon magic at your next event or kids party! You can speak to them about a particular arrangement or developing something unique and custom for you.

If you’re not in Sydney you can still shop from the Party Splendour website where you will find a range of partyware and balloons.

We were so grateful to have Party Splendour on board to help create such a lovely look and ambience to the venue for Celebrate and we highly recommend their services!
