I am delighted to share this gorgeous shoot by Elevate Decor – one of our members in the USA who styled this shoot for our magazine: https://issuu.com/lifeslittlecelebrations/docs/celebrating_20little_20ones_20magazine_20nov_20202
The inspiration for the shoot was DayDream Society’s Lola Dutch tableware collection. The collection is inspired by the Lola Dutch book series co-authored by Kenneth Wright and Sarah Jane Wright.
There were a number of unique features of this setup. The original illustrations for the book were used with permission to create beautiful designs used for different elements of the party, such as for the backdrops, signage, cake, cookies, macarons, cupcake toppers, and favor box decals.
The kids’ serpentine tables and bow chairs used were unique and added a luxury touch!
The styling of the tableware and desserts is just gorgeous!
How beautiful are the illustrations on the cake?!
There were also beautiful crane floral sculptures, cool vintage furniture to match some of the furniture illustrations in the book series and a vintage-style gold swing for the cake display.
This was just such a stunning setup and I loved how it displayed how you can beautifully style a party setup inspired by a book!:
Well done to all the vendors involved!

Thank you Little Sweet Styling for your inspiration and product ideas for a Where the Wild things are party!
One thing I always hope for my children is that they will love books and reading – especially in this age of i-phones and i-pads they are growing up in!
For this reason I have a soft spot for any book – themed party. There is something I love about theming a party based around your child’s favourite book and encouraging and celebrating their love of a wonderful story!
So I’ve gathered together some inspiration for you – various book-themed parties/dessert tables that I love.
Click onto the images to be taken directly to view more photos of these celebrations! Remember when party planning to visit the Life’s Little Celebrations children’s party directory for fantastic vendors such as cake makers, party stores, printables and more!

What books do your children love that would make a wonderful party theme? Are you planning a book themed party?
Books are such an important part of childhood and I am loving seeing the parties which are being based around a much loved children’s book – such as the Very Hungry Caterpillar which is a book my daughter is just starting to enjoy at the moment!
This party theme can involve bright and bold decorations and also gives you the chance to serve some delicious fruit as an option for your dessert table to match the fruits in the book.
Given that there are so many party themes relating to TV characters, I think that any party theme related to reading/books is a winner in my eyes!
Hope you enjoy my selection of ideas =)
