A first birthday party is always so special to plan! Your little boy generally doesn’t have strong specific likes/dislikes and of course has NO preference when it comes to a party theme which means you have free reign to choose any party theme you feel will suit your child. I’m brainstorming ideas for my own son’s 1st birthday next year and am currently thinking of an ice-cream theme or perhaps a vintage tricycle theme.
To inspire you today I’m sharing some fantastic boy’s 1st birthday themes/setups by Event stylist vendors on the Life’s Little Celebration’s children’s party directory . I will soon do another post for little girl’s 1st birthday themes. Hopefully this post will give you some new ideas or party planning inspiration for your son’s 1st birthday!
Now of course for a first birthday party you could also go with ‘no theme’ and base it more around a colour scheme such as this amazing setup!:

I hope you enjoyed the inspiration and if you are planning your son’s 1st birthday (like me) I’d love to hear what theme’s you are thinking of!
A little man theme has become a popular party theme lately for young boys, and especially 1st birthdays. This theme focuses heavily on the image of a mustache however often also incorporates bow-ties or ties as well.
It is an easy party to style through the use of printables and attaching mustaches to items such as candy jars, balloons, cups, favour bags etc
I’ve based the selections in this blog post around black/white as well as some chevron items which is often incorporated into this theme to give it a modern feel. You can find more chevron finds in this blog post.
However I don’t think this theme should only be styled around black/white – the invitation/printable section of this blog post will give you some ideas for colour schemes for this theme.
You can also find my pinterest board for this theme here with more ideas.

Hope you enjoyed the round up of ideas and they help when planning to celebrate your little man!
I thought it was time to do a boys theme and one theme which I really love is that of a vintage tricycle inspired by the printables from Style Me Gorgeous. So I’ve decided to do this post on a tricycle or bicycle theme – a great theme if you want to do a classic traditional theme for a boy =)
You could combine this theme with another item as well. For example on the Style Me Gorgeous printables they are combined with a kite. Other printables combine a tricycle with other vintage toys. I also saw a vintage tricycle and ice cream party. So really anything could work and the vintage feel could tie it together.
I’ve based most of my selections on blues and brown/cream tones and vintage items however I know all of you fab blog readers of mine could make any colour work well =)
