Gone are the days of the humble balloon being tied together in a bunch and hung from whatever could be found for decoration. Instead, these days we’re treated to spectacular colours and sizes, adornments, fillings and let’s face it, next level styling with these decorations!
Our Celebrate conference was held at the beautiful Sydney venue, The Deckhouse, with stunning water views of Sydney Harbour and the Harbour Bridge thanks to being surrounded by floor to ceiling windows. So room decoration needed only help bring the table styling together and provide backdrops for our guest speakers, rather than detract from our beautiful surrounds. But nothing short of spectacular either!
So to pull it off, we called in the help of Sydney’s own balloon Queen, Shannon from Born To Party, to design a custom balloon arrangement and add some great visuals to the room itself.
Shannon shared the load of the Celebrate balloon decor with another balloon master – Michelle of Party Splendour and we’ll be showcasing her work at Celebrate in a future blog post.
This balloon arrangement was truly a show stopper and everyone at the conference commented on it!
I loved how it looked like a waterfall of balloons was spilling out over the floor near our guest speakers! It created a brilliant feature at the front of the venue:
With no limit to what Shannon can do with balloons, balloon arrangements are a great addition to any event, and don’t be afraid to think big and be bold with your arrangements by combining tassel tails, mixing and matching the colours, styles and sizes for a dramatic effect. You can see more of Shannon’s designs on the Born To Party Facebook page.
You can find a great range of balloons and of course Shannon’s expertise at her shop in Mosman, or visit her online store where you can shop for invitations, decorations and tableware too.
THANK YOU so much for your balloon magic Shannon!
A first birthday is always special to celebrate as well as to plan. Choosing a theme can be a little difficult however since your child doesn’t have an opinion yet! I’m in the midst of trying to choose a theme for my son’s 1st birthday and facing this issue at the moment (view this post if you’re planning your son’s 1st birthday for boys theme ideas)
So to help those of you planning your little girl’s 1st birthdays here are some fantastic 1st birthday dessert tables to inspire you with some theme ideas! These are all from the wonderful vendors on the Life’s Little Celebration’s directory.
Click on any of the below images to be taken to the Business where you can see more details and photos of the party.
Pink and gold is still such a popular colour combination for girls parties and suits a special first birthday celebration as seen here in this Ballerina 1st birthday and Princess 1st birthday:

1st birthday Princess party – Opulenticity Party and Buffet Styling
Just as a Circus theme is a very popular theme for boys 1st birthdays, a Carousel theme is just as popular for little girls (and I used this theme for my daughters 1st birthday):
Carousel first birthday – Imagine Event Styling (Melb)
I always love a pink/yellow combination and a Little Miss Sunshine or You are my sunshine theme is gorgeous for a first birthday:

A theme that is equally as sweet is a “Sew cute as a button” theme as seen gorgeously here!:

With summer coming up you could base a 1st birthday around some summery themes like these amazing ones!:

Another idea is to base the party around a more neutral item such as a colour or shape such as this fun geometric 1st birthday party!:

An owl makes a popular and sweet 1st birthday theme and here are a few different takes on this theme:

For a little girl you could also just go for a generally pretty and floral theme such as these gorgeous events seen below:
Floral first birthday party – Sweet Bits and Pieces (Sydney)
Floral first birthday – Milly Boo Designs (printables and styling)
Pretty rosette first birthday – Sweet Soirees
Especially with spring around the corner this gorgeous lovebird theme is wonderful for a 1st birthday party:

I thought I’d share a post on some of the things I’m working on to share some of the exciting and new things happening via Life’s Little Celebrations.
Since launching my new services where I offer online inspiration boards & online party planning help & sourcing of items I’ve been busy with a few different projects for various mum’s after different party themes!
It all started when a mum approached me after I had started my blog (and before I offered this new service). She was impressed with the items I was finding and my style and enlisted my help in finding unique items for an upcoming celebration as she was quite busy herself at the time. The service I offered her is my “Complete Custom Styling Pack” which follows the format of the blog (but offers more ideas), completly customised to your theme, colours, requirements, budget etc. It includes hyperlinks for easy shopping too!
Once the party is held I can’t wait to share it with you! This was her feedback:
“Tanya, you did an EXEMPLARY job and I thank you, you are very very good, I
appreciate the time saved for me on this and I definitely think you should
do this on a professional basis.
Sourcing and research takes time and you did a wonderful job I can’t thank
you enough, you took my theme, my pitch, understood it and came back with
a great moodboard full of ideas which I can now quickly source. Visual
merchandising and theming is a knack which doesn’t come to many people and
you certainly have it and shared my vision.“
This is what encouraged me to offer these services to all of you!
I recently completed an inspiration board for a Robot theme. This mum had already found lots of unique finds which she shared with me on Pinterest but wanted to see what else I could source! Her feedback:
“Wow Tanya, thanks so much!
You’ve found a lot of stuff I didn’t find, some of which I’ll definitely use. Fabulous!
If you set up reviews on your FB page, I’d be happy to leave a positive review about your service. “

Currently I am working on some Alice in Wonderland theme finds for an inspiration board, such a fun theme!

I am also putting together an inspiration board for a Construction theme party with a unique colour palette.

Besides inspiration boards I also offer a “Complete Party To you” package. This is where I not only provide detailed sourcing of ideas and items for the party but also arrange to purchase all the items for you and send them to you! I am putting this together for a lovely Pirate theme party coming up.
Personalised pirate treasure map printable - Easy Invitations
I’ll also be putting together a Complete Custom Styling pack for a mum planning a twins Christening based on a Noah’s Ark theme – so lovely =)
Two by Two party - Lullaby Lubbock blog
On top of all this watch out for some upcoming contributions in the next issues of the My Little Jedi magazine, Tickle the Imagination magazine and the Bird’s Party magazine (links will take you to the current issues)!
So as you can see, I am busy busy busy! Each of these services as well as my blog posts take alot of time to put together. I have my own daughter’s 1st birthday in November and then there is Christmas and a Baby sprinkle for my sister!
Doing my best to stay on top of things while also making sure I spend lots of time with my own little daughter! =) This often means late nights (as I’m sure most of you know all too well about!!).
However it’s a joy to be able to help other mum’s in celebrating their little ones =)
Please contact me if you are interested in any of my services. As mentioned above I offer everything from Inspiration boards, complete custom styling packs to a complete party to you service. These are all offered online and all the information is sent directly to your inbox (unless you choose the “complete party to you” where products are purchased and also shipped to you). I am also offering blog sponsership packages with 2 businesses signed up already, so feel free to contact me regarding this as well!
