Naomi’s Peppa Pig inspired party

Last week we celebrated my youngest daughter Naomi’s 2nd birthday. I decided to keep it small because we are expecting our 3rd child in January 2015 – which we are thrilled about!

However I lost all party planning motivation during first trimester and with all the tiredness which comes with 1st trimester I really didn’t want to put pressure on myself in the party department!

So I kept the guest list quite small and kept things my version of simple without worrying at all about whether I would even share this party on the blog.

About a week before the party, motivation started to return and I got myself organised! I am finding parties require less effort to put together now that I know where to source everything from and I already have some standard party items and decor at home (eg: cake stands, mini jars etc) so it didn’t take much to put this party together.

All vendors used were from my children’s party directory of course.

Naomi love’s Peppa Pig so that was the theme for her party. I will share the different vendors/items I used at the party in case you want to source any of these items yourself.

Here is the Peppa Pig inspired dessert table for the party – I went bright with the colour scheme and that lovely tassel garland is by Divine Drops. It actually hangs much more nicely in person but the heater was on and blowing the tassels around:

I also loved the giant 2 balloon and petite tassel sourced from Ruby Rabbit Partyware (the tassel is created by Party Pony Designer Pinata’s and you can find similar here ).

I hired this mini picket fence from Tiny Tots Toy Hire to go with a Peppa Pig/garden feel.

I love this Peppa Pig inspired printable collection from Style Me Gorgeous and it is what I used for the printables and it also inspired the cake and cookies:

Here is the lovely cake that Minnie from Minnie’s Sweet Creations made for Naomi. It tasted AMAZING! It was inspired by the printables but I also requested Peppa and her friends on the cake as well:

Here it is on the table and again I found yet another use for the pink mini picket fences I purchased from Saffy and May a few parties ago – just to help decorate the riser and tie in with the front picket fence.

The cookies were created by Megan of Love Every Detail in Melbourne who shipped them to me. I left the design up to her and inspired by the printable she created a GORGEOUS selection of cookies that were also delicious! Both the cake and cookies were easily finished by the end of the day:

Here are some table shots:

Besides the cake and cookies I kept the dessert table simple with jelly (a standard favourite!) and fruit cups. These bright confetti dot spoons matched the colour scheme perfectly and I found them at Ruby Rabbit partyware here

I also thought I would try out these mini balloons from Ruby Rabbit partyware and use them as little toppers in the fruit cups for a bit of fun.

Here are more of the Style Me Gorgeous printable labels in use.

The kids party table and chairs I hired from Tiny Tots Toy Hire. Kept it quite simple and bright with just some Peppa Pig masks and plenty of room in the middle for all the kids food.

One of my favourite items had to be these cute Peppa Pig favour boxes by Pretty Little Vintage! They are just adorable! They had a personalised thank you message on the back but I also attached the printable thank you labels to the side:

I filled them with a few different items and I had to do a share of these cute little clips from one of my vendors Little Miss Charlie’s Treasures which I included in the girls favour boxes.

Besides the dessert table I didn’t decorate too much else for the party besides some helium balloons but I did use these really fun Peppa Pig pom poms created by Theme It Party Boxes. Dana can create any character and I ordered Rebecca Rabbit, Emily Elephant and Suzy Sheep. Then it was just a matter of fluffing the pom and assembling the pieces together.

Now pom fluffing is not one of my talents so I don’t think I quite did these pom’s justice however they were cute none the less!:

And lastly here are some pictures with the birthday girl who had a lot of fun! We hired a ball pit from Tiny Tots Toy Hire which she loved and now being 2 she was quite excited about cutting the cake and everyone singing happy birthday.

So there you have it…another party over and although I didn’t think I’d be able to pull it together thankfully the start of the 2nd trimester of pregnancy hit me with a bit of energy and I could enjoy the day as well.

Thanks for taking the time to have a read and share in a bit of this Peppa Pig inspired celebration.

Real party feature: Peppa Pig Party

Today I’m sharing a real party feature which was put together by Michelle from Little Wish Parties for her son’s 3rd birthday. It features lots of DIY and creative ideas and with Peppa Pig being such a popular theme lately I hope it inspires lots of mum’s planning for this theme!

Michelle from Little Wish Parties writes….

“In our home the daily ritual is watching Peppa Pig, there is always a rush of excitement with little ones yelling “Peppa Pigs on!” So it was a no brainer when it came to deciding on what type of theme to have for my sons third birthday.

I had seen a few Peppa Pig parties over the internet but they all seemed to be purely based around girls parties and when i offered a George Party instead my son still had his mind set on Peppa!

I was determined to not go with pinks, although knew i had to have it in there somewhere, obviously!
The first thing i decided on was the colour scheme and my first choice was pastels so i got started on my backdrop design for my table.

KED_5817

Once my backdrop was done it gave me loads of inspiration to add to my table. After convincing my dad to make me some trestle legs and source a tabletop for me, i got painting and decided to coordinate my table colour with my backdrop (mint green) which was the base for all things yummy.

Originally i wanted to paint muddy puddles on my table but i sourced some wooden circles in various sizes from Bunnings , glued and painted them for the foundation of my cupcakes and cookies and the base of my cake stand.

I also included the boys in painting these as i always like to involve them in the party planning.  I sourced some tiny gumboots and went with red as they are Georges colour. This is when i began to start adding a few extra brighter colours to the mix.

Pinterest was great for searching for ideas for cakes and even though he is only three, i rounded a few cakes down and asked the birthday boy what he liked.. easy.

KED_5787

I had a visual of muddy puddles and gumboots on cupcakes and after searching high and low over the internet i couldnt find any that had been done. Michelle from Miss Shell’s Cakes was wonderful to work with. I was so happy with the cake and cupcakes, they were just divine, exactly what i had imagined.

KED_5786

My dear friend Natalie from D’lish Cupcakes and Accesories made the apple and strawberry cookies. I also got inspiration from this for a bit of Grandpa Pigs Garden as well as adding some more brighter colours to my table.

KED_5778

Themed candy such as clouds, Peppas Teddy Biscuits, raindrops and icecream pops mixed with a few tiny umbrellas and fresh flowers for my Peppa Pig Garden finished the table.

KED_5783

KED_5782
Dinosaur donuts and dinosaur nuggets were also on the party menu, also a request from the birthday boy.

KED_5829

I had chair backers made up for my gorgeous chairs , grass mats for my table settings as well as some great props (all hire items from Little Wish Parties).

KED_5821

I dressed up some plastic milk bottles from the reject shop with fabric and opted for a chocolate sippa straw to make some muddy puddle milk. I cut out some muddy puddles from brown cardboard to create a coaster for their milk. The kids loved it!

KED_6066

Matching but larger cardboard muddy puddles were placed around the party for lots of muddy puddle jumping.

KED_5997
Cloud balloons and rain set the scene. Instead of making tassels i ended up buying some pre made metallic pom poms for my jumbo balloons, saved me lots of time. I also attached blue beads to some umbrellas to make rain.

KED_6018
I tried to save money where i could by planning well in advance and doing lots of bargain shopping. That way i  put it into other things like entertainment. Peppa was a huge hit and it was like all his dreams had come true at once so it was well worth the money.

KED_6111
Lots of party games had come to mind like piggy in the middle, mr potato sack racing, muddy puddle jumping. We also transformed our little tykes cozy coupe into daddy pigs car.

KED_6173

I knew this party was a successful one as he has already told me he wants the same party next year!
