If you are deciding on a colour scheme for your next celebration then I have found the BEST site for you!
I somehow stumbled upon this site – Design Seeds – and it is filled with colour boards which deliver inspiration for colour schemes and what colours work well together.
You can search for a particular style of theme (eg: summery, vintage etc) or search for a particular colour.
This is particularly perfect if you know you want to use mint green for example but want to find ideas for other colours which will work well alongside it.
Here are just a few boards I picked to share with you all – but there seems to be hundreds on the site to browse!
Happy colour browsing! =)

We never make a HUGE deal for Valentines day around here but this year I thought it would be nice just to invite a few close friends and their kids for a little morning tea.
This little table was meant to celebrate the love between mothers & their children so I popped on one of my Willow Tree mother & child ornaments, along with a sign I made to go along with this theme.
I mainly used things I already had around the house and from previous parties and kept things quite simple and stress free.
The only things I bought were a few cute valentines goodies from Occasion by Design and I ordered the ultra sweet cookies from Cakes By Sharon
A little sign I made up…definitely feel this way about my kids (even if one is going through the “terrible twos”!)
These cookies were delicious!
Cake cut into heart shapes and toppers from Occasion by Design. Funny how a cute topper can really dress up something so simple!
Fruit in sweet wrappers from Occasion by Design. I managed to get my daughter to actually eat more fruit today by telling her it was “cupcake fruit”!
My SIL gave me a heart shaped muffin pan last year. So I used it to make these delicious savoury muffins:
Hope you had a sweet Valentines Day as well!
As a mum of 2 little ones under 3…I don’t have the luxury of wandering the shopping centres or streets hunting down unique props and party accessories. I know there are bargains to be had out there….but for now, most of my shopping is done online!
So today I thought I would share a few finds from some stores which you can find in your shopping centres but also visit online – perfect for me because if I do get to visit a shopping centre alone I can run in and quickly to buy what I need after already seeing it online without browsing the whole store (ok I still browse the whole store anyway…!…)
Anyways the stores below (which I know most of you know and love anyway!) while not being specifically party stores, often have lots of things you can use to style your table!
Nearly all the finds below are under $20 and some under $10. Lots more on their websites!
Most of you know TYPO has wooden letters but check out these new MAP letters…perfect for a travel theme/aeroplane theme/pirate theme:

Blackboards are always popping up these days at parties/dessert tables:

Also loving the cute canvas art at TYPO. Here is a cute one for a girl nautical theme!:

Homeware & linen shops like My House often have some unique home decorate items you can use for props at VERY affordable prices. This would be perfect for any girly party although you could style it specifically for a ballerina party or a french inspired do:

Am LOVING these finds from Adairs Kids! Who knew they had they this stuff? Not me!:
Dinosaur paper chains - Adairs kids
Gorgeous playtent for a girly theme, but they also have BOYS ones too. These are perfect for kids in to play in during the party AND obviously to keep and play in for many days to come:
Cottage garden Play tent - Adairs Kids
Cute for a vintage style baby shower perhaps?:
Rocking horse - My House
Canopies like these make lovely backdrops & can be used in a bedroom after…& they are less than $30 !
Hiccups canopy - Pillow talk
A bit more expensive but you could use this many times over & use it for storage as well:
Teatime stand - My House
I know you all love Kikki.K. They have fantastic items you could use as party favours…like these notebooks for a rainbow party !
5pk notebook -Kikki.K
So there you go…a few more ideas of places to explore when planning your next party =)
When this Iceskating themed party arrived in my inbox from Sweet Event Styling by Thanh (based in Sydney) I was looking forward to featuring it for a few reasons!
1. It’s a great theme for a child who is a little bit older
2. It shows how a predominately blue colour scheme CAN be used well for a girl
Thanh based the decor around a wintery icy blue to go with the ice-skating theme as well as her daughters love of this colour!
She cleverly designed the printables including the lolly tags, toppers, placemats and signs.
Lollies were from Professors Lollies online and Thanh made all the other desserts except for Melting Moments (from local supermarket)
Love the shape of these bottles!:
Toppers are such a cute and easy way to dress up your treats.
Cake buntings are definitely IN right now! :
Thanks Thanh for sharing your great work. You can get in contact with Thanh & see more photos by visiting her facebook page here.
Based on the request of some of my readers here are some Peppa Pig party supplies to contribute to a Peppa Pig theme party.
Remember to browse my online children’s party directory for more vendors Australia wide to help when planning a Peppa Pig party!
You can gain a lot of inspiration for this party from the show itself – think jumping in muddy puddles/clouds/raindrops/umbrellas/gumboos, princess crown/wand, dressing up games, apple trees and gardens. If you view the different Peppa Pig episodes you can also gain inspiration, for example doing a Peppa pig fun-fair theme, Peppa Pig playgroup theme, Peppa Pig dinosaur theme etc.
